After this week’s Windows 10 presentation, Microsoft is looking like a company that is not only listening to their user base, but is also committed to a unified consumer experience across all platforms. The new operating system will treat the phone and tablet experience as an extension of your PC, with integrated Windows app functionality, including a free copy of Office for tablets and Windows 10 phones with a touch friendly version of Outlook allowing notifications across all of the new system’s devices. The new cloud based system will allow the user to make a change on one device and instantly access it on another. Then there’s Spartan, the new, light browser built upon a brand new rendering engine. Spartan will allow web page annotation and clipping, giving instant save capability to One Note, which can then be accessed by all other Windows 10 devices and includes offline saving for later reading. Cortana is also integrated into Spartan, allowing users to type or voice search, much like the Google browser.
Xbox capabilities are also heavily integrated in Windows 10, letting users save 30 second video clips of their gaming and share them within the Xbox app. The DirectX 12 gaming api is also built in, which XBox chief Phil Spencer says can deliver an improvement in gaming performance up 50 %. Steam and traditional PC games can also be played and shared.
There are more features built into Windows 10 than I can pack into this short article, but you get the idea. Microsoft wants to be your all inclusive mobile and PC platform and is investing heavily into making the experience completely integrated for all users. I’m not sure if they will succeed, but the Redmond tech giant is sure making a good run at it. I’m hoping that when all of this tech goodness is fully available, later this year, it will be all that is promised, since that will push Google, Apple and all of the other tech heavyweights to deliver more and better to us all.Source: PC WorldThanks for taking the time to read this post and we sincerely hope you found it helpful and enjoyable!
