One week with the Nexus 6P
Today is officially the first full week of use with the Nexus 6P and I must say I have enjoyed the experience so far. After coming off of the Note 5 and a brief moment from the Moto X Pure Edition I was wondering if the Nexus 6P could hold it's own against my pickiness. There are three main characteristics that will turn me off in a heartbeat about a phone, which is if it has a poor camera, bad battery life, and above normal lagginess. The Nexus 6P has not disappointed. If you follow my content at all you would probably realize that I believe the Note 5 is the best phone of the year. Even after using the Nexus 6P for a week I still hold that belief. That doesn't mean that the Nexus 6P is a bad phone. On the contrary, the Nexus 6P is a great phone! It passes my standards with flying colors as a matter of fact. The camera is really good. Battery life is awesome. The phone performs well. Everything else is icing on the cake.

Android Doze is something that has been needed for quite some time now. Android has answered the battery life call. In a sense Android 6.0 is thinking outside that box in this issue. Meaning that many people only that battery life was going to have to be fixed by hardware. The Nexus 6P does boast a 3,450mAh battery, but it's simply a nice combo of hardware and software compatibility. For once the software and hardware have a good ratio of optimization and balance. A problem the S6 has.It has been a long time since I have been able to get a solid 15 hours of battery life each day with roughly 3 hours of SOT. While using the S6 I was charging the phone up about 2-3 times a day. I never though I would actually be geeking out about battery life, but as I said before, it's a breath of fresh air.The lack of lagginess has also been refreshing. The Note 5 has been treating me well, but again to hound on the S6 some more, the phone just locked up and lagged throughout the day. To take the attention of the S6 for a moment, the Motorola Nexus 6 was pretty bad as well. The screen rotation was a joke, if I did anything ever so straining like watching a YouTube video the phone's screen would lock up and get warmer than usual. The Nexus 6P was a relief to have no lag involved. Well, any lag that would be it's own fault at least. Sometimes apps are the culprit. Regardless I am happy with how the Nexus 6P is performing.
Final Thoughts
The Nexus 6P has been a great phone so far I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's a phone that you can't go wrong with. Some other notable things to consider about the Nexus 6P...
- Unlocked and can use on any major network (I'm using mine on Verizon)
- Screen looks good and is a good size
- Premium build quality with an aluminum body
- Front facing speakers sound pretty good
- Charges rapidly
- Nice price
There's much more that can be said about the Nexus 6P, but that's gonna have to wait for the full review coming real soon. For now I wanted to highlight some aspects about the Nexus 6P I've experienced from this last week's of use.Plans for the Nexus 6P is to show videos about how to unlock the bootloader, root, and install custom recovery; along with rom and mod videos.
