Verizon finally approves Samsung Pay

Verizon has finally approved Samsung Pay for the following devices – Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and Note 5. For some reason, as usual, Verizon drags their feet on approving or releasing products or abilities. While we know they have approved the ability to use Samsung Pay with the supported devices, we still don’t know when it will be live.

We do know that it will be available after a OTA update. It was not until recently I have tried to use Google Wallet (now Android Pay) and I have been looking forward to using Samsung Pay because you can use it with practically any payment terminal. My local area hasn’t adopted much mobile payments options, as not many terminals have NFC technology. Samsung Pay will bypass NFC and use the magnetic strip. If you picked up a new Samsung Gear S2, you’ll be able to use the watch for Samsung Pay as well, not even needing to bust out your phone or wallet. Pretty cool stuff!
