[Review] Zealot B17 Bluetooth Headset

The Good

The Zealot B17 Bluetooth Headset sounds great. The audio quality is better than I expected. The real game-changer with this headset is the built-in SD card for mp3 files. You can use these headphones while untethered from a smart phone. This would be great while traveling. I can imagine being on a plane and wearing these during takeoff . It also has Memory Play, so the SD card can pick back up on the same track you left off. These headphones feature FM Radio as an added bonus as well. The ear cups on the B17s are very comfortable. They are replaceable and cleanable as well. This headset has a nice range of adjustability, which can be essential if you’re big-headed like me. The B17s have music controls on both ear cups, although it can take some time to get used to. The presentation has the feeling of a premium product, which is an underrated part of any product experience. This headset also comes with a line in 3.5mm cord, so you can use the B17s as studio headphones.

The Bad

For some odd reason this headset doesn’t play any audio except for music. So when I’m watching YouTube on my iPhone I hear nothing through these bluetooth headphones. For a bluetooth headset with some rare features it seems weird that I wouldn’t be able to hear anything except music from my smart phone while wearing these. I don’t watch too much video through my iPhone but some people do that exclusively on their mobile device.

I didn’t find anything ugly about this bluetooth headset.

Final Thoughts

Zealot’s B17s offer exceptional value, at $40 I would say these are a steal. It has some game-changing features I just haven’t seen on bluetooth over-ear headphones. If you can get over the fact that it only plays music via your mobile device then I would definitely recommend this bluetooth headset. I believe if Zealot keeps making products like this they’ll be around for a while. As always, check out that product link below.
