[Review] Blackzebra HP-S1 Bluetooth Headphones

The Good

There are plenty of great things about this particular set of bluetooth headphones by Blackzebra. The initial setup was a breeze. The HP S1s also provide a surprisingly snug fit, considering the way they fit in your ear. The sound quality is great, especially at the price point for these bluetooth headphones. Last but not least, these bluetooth headphones have a budget-friendly price.

The Bad

There are some I didn’t care for with these bluetooth headphones. First off, with bluetooth headphones being lightweight is key. That is why I don’t understand why the remote bar feels oddly heavy. The other thing is the audio feedback. For some reason with most bluetooth headphones the audio feedback is way too loud, especially when the device is off. This pair is plagued by this as well.

The Ugly

The one thing that really baffled me about the S1s was the lack of a carrying case. I have tested about 4 other bluetooth headsets in the past two weeks – yet this is the only one that did not include anything to carry the bluetooth headphones. This is promoted as “sport headset”, so am I just supposed to throw them in my bag nude? Sports are rough. I don’t think so.

Final Thoughts

Overall this is a great set of bluetooth headphones at an affordable price. While these won’t be replacing my PowerBeats Wireless 2s, these will be my backup pair. The lack of a carrying case is annoying, but I have a carrying case from a pair of bluetooth headphones that are broken that will work. These sound great and have a great fit. This is a nice surprise because this style of fit usually feels odd in my ear, but these didn’t and felt secure. If you’re looking for a solid pair of workout headphones that won’t break the bank, look no further!
