Since the great US success that Hauwei had with the Google Nexux 6P, the Chinese phone giant has had released a few pretty good smartphones, but nothing approaching the 6P standard. Now, it seems, that may be about to change. Hauwei has scheduled a press conference on April 9th in London to announce the P9. A new ultra-thin flagship with high-end specs and (judging from the pictures below) a form factor to match.
This latest offering from Hauwei looks gorgeous in pictures. One can only hope that the reality will live up to them. It features a dual back camera, a square rear fingerprint module with rounded corners, along with what seems to be great specs.
Reportedly the P9 will feature a 5.2 inch 1080p screen (probably a little disappointing), a Kirin 950 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of on board storage. Also 64 to 128 gigs of SD CARD storage. The expected China price is between 2888 yuan (approx. $450 US) to 3498 yuan (approx. $537 US). All of which sounds pretty good, if the prices and specs are to be believed.
We’ll have to wait until next month to find our for sure, but meanwhile, please enjoy the photographs below and dream with us.
