Essential has been the hype of the year as far as something fresh coming along. Andy Rubin, the founder of Android, decided to create his own phone. That’s all great, but the issue has been that since that was made known, he mentioned the phone would be available within 30 days. That didn’t happen and waited about two months to hear a date of when the phone can be purchased. Now is that time.
Essential Phone is now available to order from Best Buy and Sprint. If you want the unlocked version you will want to get the phone from Best Buy and if you’re a Sprint user, you can get the device at a discount.
Currently, the Black Moon color is what will be shipping first and the Pure White will start in a couple weeks. It was tempting to change my reservation with Essential.com to get the device sooner, but I am huge fan of white phones. Therefore, I will wait for the Pure White.
It’s nice to see Essential getting on track to getting the device out in the hands of customers. Personally, this phone has my interest and can’t wait to try it out. It has a unique aspect of it because of Andy Rubin’s involvement. The Essential Phone could end up giving the “Nexus” experience.
The Essential Phone does have some heavy hitters to compete against coming up with the Note 8, iPhone 8, LG V30, and Pixel 2.
Are you getting one?
