UAG makes the best protective rugged MacBook case. UAG, short for Urban Armor Gear, is well-known for their rugged cases for tons of devices. Whether it’s a smartphone or computer, they have ya covered. I’ve been using this same case for the MacBook Air 13″ for about two years now and it’s still going strong. That’s why I am confident this MacBook 12″ will be just as good. Well, there’s one thing that is not as good though.
Other cheap snap-on cases just don’t get the job done. They fall off, break, and end up looking rather used. Skins look amazing, but they lack in the rugged protection department. That’s why I love using the UAG case for MacBooks.
If you’re used to the design of UAG cases from their smartphones, this will carry right on over. It’s got the hardshell and secure clasp to keep everything in good shape. If you like the Apple logo to been seen, it gives a clear view of the Apple logo.
Being this MacBook case is rugged, it does add a little more bulk. That’s ok, because it’s expected when buying a case like this.
This UAG MacBook case gives me a sense of security of being protected against accidents. Their’s no worry of it getting dinged up. Every edge is covered along with corners.
Two Issues With This MacBook Case
The UAG MacBook case is great and I highly recommend buying one for your devices. However there are a couple things to take note of. There are two clasps located exactly where the wrists relax on while typing. Over just a few minutes those spots can because a bit irritating. UAG could design those parts to be a bit more comfortable.
The other issue is the corner closures. When shutting or opening the case up, it’s pretty stiff to open and close. The MacBook Air case I have does not have this problem. It closes securely, but not with any difficult. If it was any stiffer, you’d have to pry it open with a crowbar.
Other than those two issues, this case is great. If you need something rugged and protective, this is the MacBook case to get.
