Amazon Alexa is now on the Huawei Mate 9! This was a pretty cool announcement a little while back and now it is available to use. This is the only Android side voice command system that I think can compete with Google. Samsung is trying to get back into the game with their own version, but I am not holding my breath on that one.
Amazon’s Alexa is a well adopted platform already and now it is making an appearance on a phone. The Huawei Mate 9 is already a great device with some great features like Leica dual lens camera, Kirin 960 chipset, and 4,000mAh battery.

Mate 9 owners will start receiving the Huawei Alexa app as part of an OTA update starting later today. With this new app, people can easily perform everyday tasks while on the go – using just their voice. Key scenarios include:
- Control smart home features including lights, thermostats, and locks from anywhere
- Order items from Amazon Prime or get food delivered through Amazon voice shopping
- Stay informed with personalized news Flash Briefings from a wide array of news sources
- Stay entertained with a wide array of podcasts, Audible content, and games like Jeopardy! (perfect for long trips)
With Mate 9’s powerful specs, and four strategically placed directional mics and noise cancellation technology, Mate 9 is perfect for voice commands – so you can get more out of Alexa on the go.
